2013 NWI Crossroads Marathon

Abby has been training hard the last few months since running the Philly marathon. This was her second full marathon. It was a great day for the race with cool temps and hardly any wind. I was very proud of Abby coming in 25th in a time of 4:02:53.3 with an average pace of 9:16 per mile. Jake Gillette blazed in at first place with a 2:41:40.3 time and an average pace of 6:10 per mile.

It was great to see the Ridge Runners well represented, and the Calumet Region Striders too. The Striders had great water stops and were very supportive. The Northwest Indiana Triathletes were also out in strong support with water stop help. There is a level of camaraderie among runners I have not seen in most other sports.

Although I was there to support Abby and be her cheerleader, I took a few pics of the full marathon race, and thought I would post them. I miss shooting sport. I used to shoot a ton more than I do today.
